Fearful dental patients can choose sedation dentistry
Once
you've experienced sedation dentistry with Dr. Rippe, you'll probably
never be afraid to go to the dentist again.
Dr. Rippe offers three levels of sedation. The first two levels are
considered relaxation dentistry.
Your first option is nitrous oxide and is for people who are mildly
nervous. Nitrous oxide, commonly called “laughing gas”, will relax you,
decrease your pain level and take the edge off during your dental care.
The second level is for those who are mild to moderately nervous about
dental care. Dr. Rippe will give you a small pill to take an hour prior
to your dental appointment. Your companion will accompany you to the
office. By the time you arrive, you will be very drowsy.
When you arrive in our office, you will be escorted into the comfort
room, covered with a thick, warm blanket and have a heated aroma therapy
neck wrap applied. After you are comfortable, Dr. Rippe and the
experienced clinical team at Christian D Rippe DDS PC will take care of
your dental needs.
When your treatment is completed, your companion will return you home to
finish your comfortable, relaxing day.
The third level of sedation is IV sedation. IV sedation is for those who
have moderate to severe nervousness about dental care. Dr. Rippe has a
CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) administer the sedation.
This allows Dr. Rippe to focus completely on your dental care while the
CRNA is focused on your level of sedation and safety. The CRNA will call
you the evening prior to your appointment, review your medical history,
give you instructions for the next day and answer any questions about
the sedation. Your companion will accompany you to the office the next
day.
When you arrive in our office, you will be escorted into the comfort
room, covered with a thick, warm blanket and placed on monitors for your
safety. After you are comfortable and sedated, Dr. Rippe and the
experienced clinical team at Christian D Rippe DDS PC will take care of
your dental needs. You'll be sedated just enough to be unaware of the
treatment, as if you were relaxing. You'll wake up refreshed, usually
with no memory of what was accomplished. Because you are completely
comfortable, Dr. Rippe can do years of dental treatments in as little as
one or two visits.
Dr. Rippe can replace crowns or dentures, restore sore gums to good
health, whiten yellow or stained teeth, fix a chipped tooth, and more.
People with very busy schedules can get the dental care they need,
easily and quickly.
When your treatment is completed, your companion will return you home to
finish your comfortable, relaxing day.
Imagine being able to smile with confidence and chew your food without
pain. No wonder so many patients say: "Thank you, Dr. Rippe. Sedation
dentistry changed my life."
